Mala Necklaces

Mala’s are prayer beads that traditionally have 108 counting beads, a 3-holed guru bead and often a tassel on the end. They have been used in multiple cultures for centuries as a tool for reciting mantras. A variety of materials can be used for the beads including rudraksh tree seeds, sandalwood, rattan seeds and lotus seed. More recently semi-precious gemstones are used and often different gemstones are associated with different spiritual intentions.

Mala’s also make beautiful fashion necklaces. They have been worn as fashion accessories dating back to the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644).

Check out my portfolio for an example of some of the mala’s I have made HERE.
